Forest Industry Production Volumes Since 1960

‍Over the past decade, production volumes of forest industry products have shown a trend of growth, with the exception of paper. The increase in paperboard production has been more steady, while the production volumes of sawn softwood and chemical pulp have shown slightly more variation from year to year.

Paper production volumes, on the other hand, have been declining for a long time. The decline in paper production has been driven in particular by a drop in the production of printing and writing paper as a result of weaker demand. Paperboard production exceeded paper production in 2022.
