The success of the forest industry is important to Finland as a whole. Forest industry products account for approximately one sixth of Finland’s goods exports. The industry is also a major employer. Together with its value chain, the forest industry provides employment and livelihoods for nearly 166,500 people in Finland and generates EUR 4 billion in tax revenue each year, helping to underpin the wellbeing of Finnish society.
