The pioneer in collective agreements


Since 2022, the Finnish forest industries have negotiated their collective labor agreements locally, at company- and / or product line level. Companies may form local agreements regarding certain terms of employment, e.g. pay.

Forest industry companies want to continue to be attractive employers. In order to companies and their personnel to fully take care of their competitiveness and ultimately their common interests, Finnish labor legislation must be structurally reformed by opening up more possibilities for local bargaining. New bargaining models have significant potential for improving productivity.

The forest industry offers meaningful jobs and diverse career paths in Finland and around the world. It is a crucial sector of the future that needs skilled employees. The availability of skilled labor must be ensured by investing in the direction and quality of education, the development of skills, and the attractiveness of the forest industry.
