Wood in the mouth and on the skin

Most of us use wood-based foods and cosmetics on a daily basis. The most familiar wood-based products are probably toothpaste and chewing gum, both rooted in wood-derived fluorine and xylitol. Also, many ketchups contain wood-based cellulose in the form of various fillers and additives.

You can find wood materials in beauty industry, too. For example, birch bark from forest industry side streams may be used in cosmetic products. In addition, bio-based aromas derived from wood are utilised in many fragrances and flavourings.
