Muoto products are moulded fibre-based food packaging solutions produced from Metsä Group’s pulp using a novel technology. They are suitable for applications such as takeaway food packaging and packaging trays. Resource-efficient manufacturing and the use of fossil-free energy contribute to the low carbon footprint of the products. Muoto packaging can be recycled with paper and cardboard packaging waste, and in certain applications it can replace traditional plastic packaging. Metsä Group’s and Valmet’s demo plant has been operating in Äänekoski since 2022, and pre-commercial sales of the products began in 2024.
