More than self-sufficient electricity production

The sawmill completed in 2022 in connection with Metsä Fibre’s Rauma pulp mill receives all its thermal energy from the pulp mill. In addition, surplus heat from the pulp mill will begin to be utilised in the City of Rauma’s district heating network for heating homes and properties from autumn 2026 onwards, enabling the heat generated in pulp production to be used more efficiently.
